CM Chandrababu Naidu is studying available options for extraction of pilgrims
Tirupati: A year after the Uttarakhand flood tragedy, authorities here are on alert as incessant rains in the Northern region have sparked fresh fears over the safety of pilgrims from the state.
The state government has learnt that nearly 30 people from AP are currently stranded at the Chinna Jeeyar Swamy mutt in Badrinath. AP Bhavan officials have now been instructed to do whatever it takes to bring the stranded pilgrims back home.
It has also emerged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is currently studying available options for extraction of pilgrims from Badrinath and other parts of Uttarakhand. According to district collector Siddharth Jain, state officials have been asked to determine if there are people from the Chittoor district stuck in the Chardhams.
Mr Jain has added that the state administration is currently on stand-by and is ready to respond to an emergency. He added that as of now, there’s no clear information on whether any pilgrim from Chittoor district is stranded in Uttarakhand.
