HM displeased over protocol violation accorded to President

Thiruvananthapuram: Home minister Ramesh Chennithala has expressed displeasure over the protocol violation during the reception accorded to President Pranab Mukherjee at the Air Force technical area of Thiruvananthapuram airport on Friday evening.

Sources at the home minister's office said that protocol officers had positioned Speaker G. Karthikeyan and ministers, including Mr Chennithala, after senior officers, including chief secretary E.K. Bharat Bhushan and State police chief K.S. Balasubramanian to receive the President.

The lineup at VVIP reception, Governor Shiela Dikshit, chief minister Oommen Chandy, Mayor K. Chandrika, chief secretary E. K Bharat Bhushan, Air Force  officer, DGP K S Balasubramanian, Army officer, District Collector Biju Prabhakar, City Police Commissioner H Venkatesh, Speaker G Karthikeyan and Home Minister Ramesh Chenithala.
