Frazer Town rape: 3 held, victim identifies attackers

Hunt for fourth culprit in this incident still on

Bengaluru: Three men were arrested on Saturday by the special team under Pulikeshinagar sub-division ACP Noor-Ullah-Sharif for their involvement in the ghastly July 11 rape of a 22 year old student in Frazer town.  
 
The accused, all residents of Frazer Town were identified as Mohammed Ishaq Sawood (32), an event manager; Sheik Shoaib Mohammed (27) who runs a mobile shop and Mohammed Hafeez (32), who owns a car battery shop.  The trio were picked up on Saturday morning from K.G. Halli and have reportedly confessed to being present during the rape.
 
The police have confirmed their identities with the victim and her male friend. A special team is hunting for the fourth man who aided and abetted the rape. N. Sathish Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (East Division), would not say whether the suspects had any past criminal record, saying, “investigations are ongoing.”
