After party's rout in polls in Seemandhra, Congress leaders enjoy free time
Some are spending time with their families — something they had neglected over the last 10 years — a former Union minister has taken up farming while another is planning to go back to acting. And with nothing to do at present (no elections in the horizon), quite a few of them have also gone abroad on long vacations. The lives of these politicians, who were the rulers till the last elections, have undergone a total change to say the least.
K Surya Prakash Reddy takes to farming
Former Union minister Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy is concentrating on his agricultural lands these days. “I have agriculture lands in Laddagiri in my native village in Kurnool district. I also have a dairy farm and a breeding centre. When I was an MP and Union minister, I would visit my land and dairy once in a week or 10 days. Now I am looking after my land and dairy. I like being a farmer,” he says.
Family for Nadendla Manohar
The former AP Assembly Speaker says that in the last three years, he did not have any time for himself, let alone for his family. Now, however, he is making up for lost time and is giving all his attention to his wife Manoharam and children, Mitul and Lalith. “When I was Speaker, I had no time to spend with my family. Now that I am free, I am able to schedule my time. I am spending most of my time with my children and family; now I am able to look after my children’s education. I am also concentrating on my fitness and am playing tennis every day. Besides that I am catching up on my reading,” he says.
Chiranjeevi gearing up for his 150th film
Former Union minister Chiranjeevi is one of the few who did not have any problems deciding what to do after the polls. He is busy planning his comeback to tinsel town with his 150th movie. At a recent press conference, he had said, “I have decided to act again and the project might go on the floors soon. But the script and director is not confirmed yet. Millions of fans are pressuring me for my 150th film.” Chiru’s son and actor, Ram Charan, had also recently said that his father’s 150th film would be produced under their own banner.
Doctors go back to hospital
Former Union minister Killi Kruparani and her husband, Killi Ram Mohan Rao, these days are concentrating on their charities. Ram Mohan Rao, who had also contested and lost the Assembly elections with a Congress ticket, says, “When my wife Kruparani was Union minister, she had no time to spend with the family. Now she is able to do that. Both of us are doctors and we have our own hospital. We also run a charitable trust for the poor. We are now allotting our time to the trust besides continuing our political activities.”
P Bala Raju is spending time with family
“When I was a minister, I did not get the time to speak with my family even for 10 minutes. I am now spending most of my time with my family. I am also reading books,” says former minister P. Bala Raju.
DronamRaju Srinivas is catching up on his reading
Former Government Whip Dronamraju Srinivas is spending his time these days reading books. His wife Sasi and he are living in Visakhapatnam with their granddaughter at present. Srinivas says, “I am reading spiritual books and autobiographies of famous persons.”

Journalist-turned-politician K. Kanna Babu is spending his time with his wife Srividya and daughter Siri. Kanna Babu says, “I am studying books on personality development and I am also planning to write some books.”
