iPhone 6 will have a 2mm thin battery
Samsung has already developed a 1.6mm thin battery, but isn't using it as yet
Here is another piece of information for all you iPhone fans out there. The iPhone 6, according to DigiTimes, which is one of the most awaited Apple handset, will be featuring a 2mm thin battery, while the entire unit will be an ultra-thin 7mm. Samsung has already developed a 1.6mm thin battery, but has not yet put it to use in any handset.
The iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S models are presently being powered by a 3mm thin battery. According to the report, the sources also stated that the new 2mm thin battery will feature the same capacity as the 3mm variant presently being used in the iPhone 5. Apple iPhone 5 users have been reportedly been complaining about lower battery life. We wonder how the new iPhone will cope with the same battery rating on a powerful hardware to give a longer lasting battery life.
The iPhone 6 is scheduled to be unveiled somewhere in September. Apple is said to be releasing two sizes of the Apple iPhone—one being a 4.7-incher and the other being a 5.5-inch phablet. Reports earlier stated that the iPhone 5.5-inch will be delayed and the unveiling would be pushed by a few more months citing an issue with the production of the sapphire glass. However, for now, the iPhone 6, 4.7-inch, is scheduled for a date around 19 September. Reports also state that around 60-70 million handsets will be pushed out by November 2014. Another report stated that a total of 100,000 people will be employed for the manufacturing unit to speed up the production.
