Telangana will urge AP to give increment to Telangana staff
Telangana govt is ready to pay increment even to Seemandhra employees
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is planning to request the AP government not to deprive the Telangana employees working for AP of the increment since it is ready to pay the increment even to Seemandhra employees working for Telangana.
The Telangana increment will find a special mention on the pay slips of employees, unlike other increments that get automatically added to the basic pay without any reference on pay slips.
The Telangana government will incur a burden of Rs 180 crore per year on account of the increment. Though permanent allocation of employees is yet to be made for both the states, the Kamalanathan Committee appointed for the purpose has already taken an in-principle decision to give “options” for employees to choose the state of their choice.
At present, about 9,000 employees from Seemandhra are working for the Telangana government and about 4,000 Telangana employees are working for the AP government on a provisional basis since bifurcation of the state on June 2.
Officials say that there would not be much change in these numbers if options were given as Seemandhra employees would prefer to work in Hyderabad for reasons like education needs of their children etc., while Telangana staff who were on the verge of retirement, would prefer to work for AP to avail the benefit of increase in the retirement age from 58 to 60 years.
Taking all these factors into consideration, the T-government is mulling to give the “Telangana increment” to even the Seemandhra employees.
