BSE Sensex edges lower after hitting record high

Sensex is down by 0.12 per cent and Nifty slides by 0.16 per cent on Thursday

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex is down 0.12 per cent after earlier marking its all-time high at 26,190.81. The broader Nifty falls 0.16 per cent, after hitting a record high on Wednesday. Indexes fall on profit-taking, bearish positions in futures.

Nifty July futures discount widens to 9 points versus spot index. Cairn India shares slump 4.79 per cent after loan facility to parent Vedanta . Wipro falls 0.25 percent and ACC fall 0.59 per cent ahead of quarterly earnings later in the day.
