Microsoft seems to push hard into the Windows Phone operating system with the new release of the Nokia Lumia 530. With the Android X-series from Nokia almost pronounced dead, Microsoft is making sure they don’t lose out in the race.

The Nokia Lumia 530 is a low-cost Windows-based smartphone. The display is a 4-inch FWVGA with a resolution of 854x480. The handset is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and coupled with 512MB of RAM. It includes 4GB of storage which is expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB.

To cut corners and roll out a cost-effective smartphone for the masses, Microsoft has equipped the Nokia Lumia 530 with just a 5MP camera (without flash) and no front camera.

However, the Nokia Lumia 530 ensures that users will witness the same experience of other Lumia series with Windows Phoe 8.1 operating system, one-swipe Action Center, Cortana, WordFlow swipe keyboard and other Nokia apps. The Nokia Lumia 530 will be available in single and dual SIM variants and the sales are expected to begin next month. The price is not yet revealed, but one can expect a price tag of Rs 7,000 – Rs 8,000 when it is launched in India.
