Drass Sector, Kargil: Army Chief General Bikram Singh on Friday paid homage to Kargil martyrs in Drass Sector of Kargil.

Naib Subedar Yogendra Singh Yadav told ANI, "In this valley, fifteen years ago, soldiers created a history which no Indian could have ever imagined. These mountains and areas where it is difficult to even survive, Indian soldiers moulded themselves and won the battle here."

Father of Martyr Vijayant Thapar, Colonel V N Thapar said, "He has set an example for rest of the soldiers. A father will always be in pain for his son's loss. Army and civilians have done lot of things in his memory. The ones who have sacrificed their lives just need respect."

"There are many possibilities of progress but people are not very much aware about career in Indian Army. We need to make them aware about it," he added.
