Staff of undivided Andhra Pradesh can work in their choice of state
No options will be given to employees who are set to retire within two years
Hyderabad: The decks have finally been cleared for the long-delayed division of state-cadre employees between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Around 53,000 employees are awaiting final allotment to both the states since bifurcation and are currently discharging duties for both states on “provisional allotment” basis.
On Friday, the Centre-appointed Kamalnathan Committee finally came out with guidelines for the purpose after it’s meeting with officials of the Union Home ministry and chief secretaries of both states in New Delhi.
As per the Kamalnathan committee’s guidelines, “options” will be given to all employees to choose the state of their choice, Telangana or Andhra Pradesh. Employees will be allotted to the states based on their nativity.
For determining the nativity of the employees, Article 371(d) will be considered wherein place of study for seven years, from Class IV to X, will be taken into account.
No options will be given to employees who are set to retire within two years. Spouse cases and single women (widows/ divorced) will get priority in exercising options. The guidelines have been posted on the website and 10 days’ time will be given for employees to file objections, if any.
