Watch: AAP MP Bhagwant Mann’s satirical take on ‘Achche Din’ in Parliament
Mann won the Lok Sabha polls from Sangrur with a record margin of 2 lakh votes
Mumbai: AAP lawmaker Bhagwant Mann represents a party fighting hard to re-invent its lost charm and standing true to its claims of fighting corruption in India. Though, the Aam Aadmi Party put up a disappointing show in the 2014 general elections, it struck gold in Punjab by winning 4 seats of the 13.
An acclaimed comedian, Mann eased up things in the Parliament with his magical talent. He did what he is best at, stand-up comedy.
The subject was different, the audience was political and the environment tense. But he managed to tickle a funny bone through his poetry.
Mann’s ‘stand-up’ act in Parliament has gone viral on social media, with some saying that it was a respite from the usual infighting and bickering between lawmakers.
Mann used his comic timing to spell out a satirical poem on PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Achche Din’ and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s budget.
Standing confident in a bright yellow turban, he constantly asked when good times would arrive and how the common man would benefit from the ‘Achche Din’.
Mann comes from a humble background and was a household name in Punjab for his comedy shows and stage performances.
He won the Lok Sabha polls from Sangrur with a record margin of two lakh votes.
