Meet the 40-yr-old woman who conquered Kilimanjaro in stilettos

Washington: A 40-year-old woman recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in a pair of stilettos.

Rima Suqi, called herself "a little bit of a shoe person", had devised the solo trip to Tanzania almost a year in advance as a meaningful way to fete her fortieth birthday, which she celebrated the day after the ascent, ABC News reported.

Suqi admitted that her choice of footwear was not quite so intentional and she doesn't honestly know what made her think to do it, and that she figured it would be "an opportunity for a good picture."

According to Suqi, the sartorial stunt was not just for show, the climb is really a metaphor for life, about its ups, downs, easier patches and rough patches.
