India to host West Indies before Australian tour

Mumbai: India will host West Indies before travelling Down Under for the Australia tour and ICC World Cup. West Indies are scheduled to play five ODIs, Three Test matches and a Twenty20 International during their October-November series in the country. The visitors will play ODIs in Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam, Cuttack, Dharamshala and Kochi. The Three Test venues for the seires will be Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad and the solitary T20 International will be played in Delhi.
The Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee chaired by BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla decided the venues for the series between India and the West Indies. The exact date-wise match-schedule will be finalised later on the basis of logistics.West Indies will tour India for the third time in four years. They lost the three Test match series 2-0 and lost five-match ODI series 4-1 during the 2011 (November-December) tour. The Caribbean’s were in India for Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell Test series in November 2013, and lost both Tests. India also won the ODI series 2-1.
