Chennai: Piaa Bajpai, who was last seen in Ko (2011), is now all set for the release of her next film, Nerungi Va Muthamidadhae.
Director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan of Arohanam fame said, “She has done a fantabulous job. Piaa plays the role of a city-bred girl. The entire film happens on a road journey, and her role in the film is very intense.
"This will definitely be new for her fans. Also, the Lucia actress, Shruthi Hariharan’s performance as a village girl has also been enthralling. As most of the scenes happen on the road, inside a lorry, we shot in the hot sun.
"It was tough for us, much hard work has gone into the film. The lead actor, Shabbir, drives a lorry and simultaneously emotes for crucial scenes. It was not an easy task. Since Shabbir is a yoga intructor in real life, it was easy for him to perform fight sequences in the film. This is a complete action drama, unlike my previous film.
"The entire story happens in one day during a petrol crisis. It’s a journey from Thiruchy to Karaikal. The story ends when the vehicle reaches its destination,” she concluded.
