Commonwealth Games 2014: Sardar and co. face tough Australia test today
India have won their previous two games against Wales and Scotland
Glasgow: With two easy victories under their belt, a confident India will face their first real test in men's hockey when they take on world champions and title holders Australia in a group match at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.
Ninth ranked India beat World No 31 Wales 3-1 and 25th ranked Scotland 6-2 in their previous Group A ties. The Sardar Singh-led side face their first big test against a ruthless Australia today.
India suffered a 0-8 hammering at the hands of the Australians in the 2010 CWG final in New Delhi. Going by rankings and present form, the Kookaburras are way ahead of India. In the last meeting at this year's World Cup,
India lost 0-4 to Australia, who went on to win the title beating Netherlands 6-2 in the final. India will need a magical effort and some divine intervention to win today.
