Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao slammed the Telugu Desam, the BJP and the Congress for criticising Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao despite the good work done by the fledgling TRS government.
Education minister G. Jagadish Reddy also criticised senior Congress leader K. Jana Reddy for his uncharitable comments against the TRS government.
“We are not even 60 days old, yet we have set the ball rolling in 43 electoral promises made to the people with a skeletal staff of 70 civil servants as against the required 330 officials. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is creating hurdles at every step with the support of Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu,” Mr Harish Rao said.
Taking exception to comments made by Mr Jana Reddy, the irrigation minister said Mr Jana Reddy was criticising the TRS government as part of ongoing power struggle in the Congress under TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah.
“We accept constructive criticism. But Mr Jana Reddy says there is no clarity in the implementation of loan waiver scheme, which is wrong. KCR garu has made it clear that every farmer will receive a benefit of up to Rs 1 lakh, despite a huge financial burden of '18,000 crore on the state,” he said.
Mr Harish Rao said the Congress was to be blamed for the power crisis as they failed to improve the power situation in their 10 year rule.
“We are trying to overcome power crisis by promoting solar power, establishment of NTPC power station, and purchasing power from neighbouring Chhattisgarh,” he said.
Mr Jana Reddy never stood by people, Mr Harish Rao said and questioned why the Congress leader remained silent when seven mandals in Khammam district were merged with AP, or when water was taken away from Nagarjunasa-gar, and on farmers’ suicides.
