Chaitanya Junior College principal beats student for coming late to college

The principal beat the student after he repeatedly disobeyed him

Hyderabad: The principal of Sri Chaitanya Junior College in Chaitanyapuri was booked for alleged corporal punishment on Wednesday.

The principal,  Mr Venkateshwarlu Goud, allegedly beat up a student for coming late to college.

According to N. Jayaram, the Chaitanyapuri sub-inspector of police, on Wednesday morning, Uday Goud, a second-year MPC student, came late to the college.

He reached the college by 8.45 am, well past the stipulated time of 8.30 am.

The principal was angered by this and hit Uday on his back.

He later asked Uday for his father’s number. When the student gave his brother’s number instead, the principal beat him up again.

“The principal wanted to inform his father and asked for the phone number. Out of fear, Uday gave his brother’s number instead. The principal was angered by this and slapped him on his face.” said Mr Jayaram.

Based on a complaint lodged by Ashok Goud, Uday’s father, a case was registered against the principal under Section 323 of the IPC.
