Petrol gets cheaper, while diesel becomes costly

OMC's have reduced petrol prices for second time in three-and a half months

Petrol and diesel rates are due for revision on September 15
New Delhi: State owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Thursday cut petrol price by Rs1.09 per litre but raised diesel rates by 56 paise a litre.This is second reduction in petrol prices in three-and a half months. However, OMCs cut bulk diesel prices sold to bulk consumers including railways, defence, transport corporations and airports among others by Rs 0.72 a litre at Delhi (including VAT) with corresponding decrease in other states.
 
Also domestic non-subsidised LPG cylinder price was reduce by Rs 2.50 for a 14.2 kg cylinder and that of LPG commercial cylinder by Rs 4 for a 19 kg cylinder at Delhi with corresponding decrease in other states. All those fuel products which are market linked saw their prices dropping as global crude oil prices came down.
