Mumbai: Now you can send text messages even if you are far away from your network area. The goTenna device helps you to send text messages even if your smartphone is on ‘Airplane mode.’

You just need to pair your smartphone to your goTenna device via Bluetooth. Its free app will enable you to type out a text message or share a location as well. The goTenna needs to be 20 feet of your phone. Your smartphone will send the message to your goTenna, which will then shoot it out, via long-range radio waves (151-154 MHz).

The app also has built-in emergency communication features like the ability to ‘shout’ messages to anyone within range. It charges via USB and will last about 30 hours when continuously on or for three days with intermittent use.

The packet of goTenna comes includes two models, which will help you stay connected to another goTenna device.
