New app to remind parents of kids in the car
Kars4Kids Safety app is designed to alert parents in case they forget their kids in the car
Washington: For parents who have a tendency to forget their kids in the car, here's an app to make them less sloppy! An American non-profit has developed a new smartphone app that alerts parents in case they forget their kids in the car.
The Kars4Kids Safety app is designed to alert drivers when they leave their car to remember there is a baby in the backseat. "A necessary addition to every responsible parent's toolkit, the Kars4Kids Safety app gives parents the peace of mind of knowing that their child is safe in the backseat," according to the app's website.
After a one-time easy setup, the app syncs with your vehicle's Bluetooth to sound an alert when you leave the car. Users choose between a notification setting which triggers a notification every time their phone connects to their car's Bluetooth, reminding them to turn the alert on if their child is with them, or an automatic setting which turns the alert on automatically with the Bluetooth connection. Users can customise the app with the name and photo of their child and a custom alert ring-tone.
"Kars4Kids Safety app is designed as an emergency back-up to careful parental and adult monitoring, not as a substitute for such monitoring," the makers wrote on the website. "Electronic applications, such as Kars4Kids Safety do fail. Always perform a visual check for your children and do not rely on Kars4Kids Safety as your sole safety check," they said.
