Cop in soup for kissing accused

Lucknow: A kiss, a hug and some sane advice to a murder accused is costing dear to a police official in Kanpur. Circle officer Rakesh Nayak was shifted from his post in Kanpur on Friday when he was caught on camera the planting a kiss on an accused, charged with the murder of his wife. IG of Police, Ashutosh Pandey, said on Saturday that he had written to the DGP recommending further action against the CO for ‘indiscipline.’ Mr Pandey said that instead of probing the matter, the CO was seen sympathizing with the accused.

“His behavior has brought disrepute to the force,” the IG said.
