Hyderabad: For the first time in the history of prestigious law university of Nalsar, organisers failed to allow the media to cover its convocation held on Saturday.

President Pranab Mukherjee was the chief guest at the event on Saturday at the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (Nalsar).

The organisers, who invited the media personnel to cover the event, disallowed them into the varsity premises, for not being able to provide the list of press reporters and media crew to security personnel.

Sources disclosed that authorities failed to submit a list of media personnel invited for the coverage of the convocation despite a request from the President’s security authorities and the Cyberabad police.

An university official close to the media affairs said, “We used to issue separate passes for the media after duly informing the police and the security authorities of the chief guest of the particular event. But this time separate passes were not issued and prior information was not given to police about media being invited to the event.”
