Malappuram: Palestine ambassador in-charge to India Saleh Fhied Mohammed has urged India to support the struggle of Palestinians. He was speaking as chief guest at the Panakkad Sayed Muhammadali Shihab Thangal commemoration and Palestine solidarity declaration organized by IUML here on Saturday.

“A UN report before the latest assault said that the Gaza strip will be unlivable by 2020. But this attack may bring the date sooner. Israel is using the territory to test its latest weapons,”  Saleh Fhied Mohammed said.

The speakers at  the programme used the occasion to attack the NDA government at  the centre for not taking a solid stand on the Gaza attack. The meeting expressed its solidarity with the people of Palestine.

IUML state president Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal said that Israel was  trying to erase Palestine from the world. IUML national president E. Ahmed, who presided, said that the BJP- led government would have to answer the world over its silence about Gaza attack.

“The government should think how it would deal with the feeling of Arab world on the issue,”  Mr Ahmed said. Minister P.K. Kunhalikkutty delivered the Shihab Thangal commemoration speech.
