Hyderabad: Protesting the widespread killing of children and civilians in Gaza, in Israel, the Indo-Arab League, Hyderabad, assured the Palestine Ambassador, Adli Shaban Hasan Sadeq, that they would request the Indian government to demand a ceasefire. Incidentally, Mr Sadeq lost his six-year-old grandson in the attacks, two days ago.

Mr Sadeq, who was extremely disturbed, gave a glimpse into the plight of the people who were scared, upset and living in fear due to the constant bombings. Mr Sadeq explained that it was very important for world leaders to press upon the US to withdraw support to Israel. He said, “The Indian government can study the situation in Palestine thoroughly and take up the issue with American President Barack Obama later this year.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to meet Mr Obama in September. The Israeli aggression has led to the killing of 1,800 citizens. Syed Vicaruddin, chairman of the Indo-Arab League of Hyderabad, presented a cheque of Rs 25 lakh to Mr Sadeq to purchase necessities for those ailing in relief camps in Gaza.
