Woman abducts and robs school children
Befriended kids as relative and fled away with their gold

Hyderabad: Two kids were allegedly kidnapped from their school at Sahebnagar in Vanasthalipuram and robbed by an unidentified woman on Monday. However, they kids were traced within three hours. Police said the woman had befriended them by introducing herself as a relative. She took them some distance away from school and fled with their gold.
The kids Durga Bhavani, 8, is a student of Class III and her brother Aravind, 7, is a Class I student of Zilla Parishad High School. Their father Srinu, a labourer had dropped them at school at around 8.30 am.
Police said the woman aged in the early 20s had befriended the children at school and took away the gold. “The woman told them that she was a relative and their father had sent her. She took them some distance away from school and asked for Durga’s earrings. She convinced her that her father had asked for them,” said SI Veera Swamy of Vanasthali-puram. Police said the woman took the ear rings weighing about two grams and abandoned the kids. Locals found them crying and when they asked the kids narrated the incident. The cops were alerted.
Srinu, said he saw the woman smiling at his kids in the morning when he came to drop them. He thought that she was a parent. “He asked his kids whether they knew her before, and they said no. He then thought she might have come to drop her kids,” said the inspector. Based on a complaint, a case was registered for kidnap, cheating and theft. The woman has not yet been traced, cops said.
