Ten days more for re-affiliation of colleges in Hyderabad
Inspections had been initiated after the APSCHE had issued the notification for EAMCET counselling
HYDERABAD: Inspections in engineering and pharmacy colleges initiated recently, will take another 10 days to complete. While, the State Council should have had the list of engineering colleges at the time of issuing notification, the list will not be available even after certificate verification begins.
The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, is the affiliating university for engineering, pharmacy and management colleges in Telangana state. There are 300 engineering colleges, 99 pharmacy colleges and 60 management colleges seeking re-affiliation. The TS government had asked the JNTUH to initiate fresh inspections recently. Dr A. Damodaram, director, Academic Audit Cell, JNTUH, said, “We have started inspections recently. Inspections will be completed by August 15. From our side, there will be no delay towards counselling.”
Inspections had been initiated after the APSCHE had issued the notification for Eamcet counselling. This move by the TS government was also seen as an attempt to block counselling. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS legislators had cited colleges flouting norms in state.
However, APSCHE officials said it would be too late for counselling. “Certificate verification begins on August 7. It will be too late if they need another 10 days for affiliation renewal,” a senior APSCHE official said.
