Water to be released for Krishna delta and Rayalaseema

AP will get 63 per cent and Telangana state can get 37 per cent share

VIJAYAWADA: From Wednesday water will be released for Krishna delta and Rayalaseema to meet drinking and irrigation purposes needs from Wednesday. Irrigation minister Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao said that there would be no delay in releasing water. 
 
However, the first priority will be drinking purpose, according to the orders of Krishna River Management Board. 
 
The quota of release would be decided by the two chief engineers of the irrigation departments of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state.  Sources said, AP will get 63 per cent and Telangana state can get 37 per cent share from the allocated water according to the Board’s plan.  
 
Irrigation minister Mr Rao said that the farmers won’t have to worry as they will also get  required water immediately.
