Indian army man falls into Pakistan ‘honeytrap’
He had been trading important information for nude photographs and videos

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Monday arrested an Army man for passing on classified information regarding the Indian Army to a suspected Pakistani agent. A case under the Official Secrets Act has been booked against him.
Naik Subedar Patan Kumar Poddar of the EME Unit at Secunderabad came in contact with a woman, suspected to be a Pakistani national, on Facebook and had been trading important information for nude photographs and videos. Police suspects that the alleged Pak agent’s name on her FB account and photos are fakes.
Police commissioner M. Mahender Reddy said that Patan Kumar of West Bengal, who is attached to 151, MC/MF detachment, Secunderabad Railway Station, has been actively involved in espionage activities, violating the provisions of the Official Secrets Act. Police took suo moto action after gathering information through intelligence sources regarding Patan’s activities.
“He shared information about strategic locations of Army bases and deployment of some defence units in the country. In order to collect this information, he had spoken to many Army personnel across the country, and found out details of locations of artillery regiments, commands, corps, division headquarters and brigades,” said Mr Mahender Reddy.
