Two Congress leaders join ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti

All MLAs from the Muthole constituency are now in the TRS

Hyderabad: In a jolt to the Congress in Telangana, the newly elected MLA from Muthole in Adilabad district, G. Vithal Reddy and deputy chairman of the Legislative Council Neti Vidyasagar joined the TRS on Wednesday in the presence of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Mr Vithal Reddy is the first Congress MLA to join the TRS.

Mr Vidyasagar was the acting Chairman of the Council and conducted the election for the Chairman post recently. Incidentally, Mr Vidyasagar also voted for TRS nominee Swamy Goud along with eight other Congress MLCs who joined TRS then.

A petition seeking disqualification of their membership was submitted by the Leader of Opposition D. Srinivas and has been pending with the Council chairman.

MLAs A. Indrakaran Reddy and Koneru Konappa elected on a BSP ticket from Adilabad district joined the TRS a few days ago.

With the lone MLA representing the Congress from the district also deciding to join the ruling party, the entire lot of 9 MLAs are now in the TRS.
