No water war this year, says Karnataka Chief Minister
Tamil Nadu had received 60 tmcft of water in excess last year

Chennai: Putting an end to TN’s annual war cry demanding more water from the Cauvery in accordance with the tribunal verdict, Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah said on Wednesday that the state had complied with the orders of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, and Tamil Nadu had received 60 tmcft of water in excess last year.He was speaking at Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS), near Srirangapatna.
Pointing out that KRS had filled up owing to copious rainfall in the Cauvery catchment area, Siddharamaiah said that there would be no dispute [over Cauvery waters] between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu this year.
