Bhubaneswar: Over 18 lakh people in 23 districts of Odisha have been affected by the high floods in the Mahanadi and other major rivers in the state. The death toll in the natural calamity, according to official sources, rose to 35. Nearly 2.11 lakh hectares of farm lands were damaged by the flood.

Meanwhile, the Centre on Thursday assured all help to the state to tackle the situation caused by the floods. Home minister Rajnath Singh said that he had talked to Odisha CM on phone and assured him all possible help.
