Officers told not bring students

Mr Rao said forcing students to wait for hours was not advisable

Nizamabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao directed  officials not to  bring students on to the roads to welcome VIPs during their visits to the places.

He received a grand welcome in Armoor  on Thursday and a large number of schoolchildren waited to welcome him  with flowers and flags.

Addressing a public meeting there, Mr Rao said forcing  students to wait for hours was not advisable. He said that officials should strictly follow his orders in entire Telangana with immediate effect.

The  chief  minister reached Armoor  2 hours later than the schedule forcing students in Nizamabad and Armoor towns  to wait in the sun.

Meanwhile, the CM’s road travel disrupted traffic movement and led to snarls on NH-44, NH-63 and Nizamabad-Narsi inter-state road. Police officers halted vehicles, including RTC buses and  two wheelers, to make way for the chief minister’s convoy in view of the CM''s convoy.

CM Chandrasekhar Rao  reached the district from Hyderabad in a specially designed bus.
