Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday, while asking collectors at Vijayawada to implement the “political mandate” of the government, said that the Telugu Desam cadre should be made part of the “development process”.

He added that it was the party workers who would stand by him.

Meanwhile Naidu said that he will stand by honest officers, and alsoa sked the colectors to think out of the box

“We need new ideas to develop Andhra Pradesh. Every district collector has to analyze statistics and be able to explain why there is a drop in performance in various sectors. You shall assess the impact of schemes and the performance of various departments has to be studied. Use available resources in cost-effective ways to develop AP,” he said.

Mr Naidu also spoke about the uncertainty due to non-allocation of permanent cadre of IAS officials. “We need to understand that there is uncertainty; I will stand by officers who work honestly. We hope this will be solved soon and things will fall in place. We have strengths and challenges.”

He also said that he wanted to give iPhones or tablets to 10,000 important functionaries.

AP ranked 12th in Human Development Index in India and it is lagging behind in South too, he pointed out. The Chief Minister also unveiled seven missions to improve human development indicators, literacy, skill up gradation, power situation, focus on services and manufacturing.
