K Chandrasekhar Rao to abolish all panels to give posts to party seniors
CM is particular about removing all the existing committees
Hyderabad: The Telangana state government will soon pass Ordinances for removal of the existing Agricultural Market Committees and Temple Administration Committees.
Sources said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is particular about removing all the existing committees and wants to constitute them afresh with TRS candidates.
“Instead of seeking resignations from the committee chairmen and the members on the pretext that a new government is in place now, we decided to get rid off all the committees in one go to save time,” said a source.
Government sources said that the proposal to prorogue the Assembly and Legislative Council session has already been sent to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan.
Once the respective Ordinances are issued, it will be easier for the government to go for fresh appointments. “We can accommodate nearly 200 second-rung leaders as Market Committee and Temple Committee chairmen,” the source added.
The Chief Minister has also reportedly prepared a list of politicians to be appointed to various public sector corporations.
“Presently division of some corporations like APSRTC is taking place, and will be completed shortly. We will have our own people to head the corporations and preference is being given to TRS senior leaders who had lost in the general elections,” said sources.
TRS politburo member K. Niranjan Reddy, who narrowly lost from Wanaparthy in the Assembly polls to Congress MLA G. Chinna Reddy, is being tipped for the post of chairman of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.
Similarly, former deputy Speaker of the undivided AP Assembly K. Hariswara Reddy, who lost to the Congress candidate from Parigi, will be appointed as deputy chairman of the Telangana State Planning Board, with Cabinet minister rank.
Pidamarthi Ravi, the Osmania University JAC leader who had joined the TRS and lost from the Sattupally Assembly segment to the TD candidate, has been finalised for appointment to Telangana Scheduled Caste Development Corporation.
TRS Youth Wing president Bonthu Rammohan, who “sacrificed” a TRS ticket from Sanathnagar Assembly, is being tipped for appointment as chairman of HMDA or the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.
