Andhra Pradesh ordinance to scrap temple panels

Hyderabad: AP government  issued an ordinance on Saturday removing all the temple committees including Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) Board.

In the Cabinet meeting AP government had taken a decision to remove all the temple committees which were nominated by the previous congress government. Earlier, the TD government had asked the nominated members to resign, but  many did not oblige.

It is believed that the move is targeted to remove TTD Chairman K. Bapiraju, who had said that he would not resign on his own. But, he would honour the government’s decision, if it comes up with an Ordinance.
