Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation begins Independence Day fete preparation

Civic body will deploy more men and machinery for cleaning the area.

Hyderabad: Civic works worth Rs 7 crore have been sanctioned especially for Independence Day celebrations that will be held at the historic Golconda Fort. 
 
The road from Banjari Darwaza through Langer Houz junction and Toli Chowki crossroads all the way to Golden Palace Shaikpet, the road from Adityanagar culvert to Seven Tombs Shaikpet, road from Toli Chowki crossroads to the Seven Tombs, Shaikpet and Haridaspura will be repaired. 
 
Streelights will be fixed and the greenery in the area will be improved. Also, the civic body will deploy more men and machinery for cleaning the area. 
 
The roads from Ramdevguda junction, Nanalnagar crossroads, Shaikpet areas and other main roads leading to Golconda Fort will be decorated. The GHMC will also launch the “driver-cum-owner" programme on the Independence Day. The civic body will provide 105 vehicles, costing nearly '7 lakh each, to unemployed youth. The  GHMC will also assist the youth in getting loan provision
