Gujarat model for Andhra Pradesh water grid

AP officials to visit Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar before preparing an action plan

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to emulate Gujarat model and set up a state-wide water grid in AP to solve the drinking and irrigation water problem in urban and rural areas.
 
Mr Naidu has deputed  K.S. Jawahar Reddy, principal secretary panchayat raj and rural water supply, to visit Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, and study the project there before preparing an action plan to set up a state-wide water supply grid in AP.
 
Mr Reddy and officials will leave for Gujarat on Sunday and study the project on Monday, Tuesday and will return on Wednesday. Experts will be hired to prepare water grid plan in consultation with Gujarat government officials.
