Now, BJP bid to woo Kerala finince minister K M Mani
Resident Editor of the daily, described Mani as the Bheeshmacharya of Kerala politics
Kochi: After the CPM it is now the turn of the BJP to woo Kerala Congress leader and State Finance Minister K.M. Mani. Janmabhumi, the BJP mouthpiece in an edit page article published on Saturday, has invited Mani to the Sangh Parivar fold. The article penned by K.Kunhikkannan, Resident Editor of the daily in Kochi, described Mani as the Bheeshmacharya of Kerala politics and said “he will be received with both hands at the national level”.
“Mani Sir should not consider those whose sights are glued to the left and right combinations in the state. Instead, he should opt for the straight path”, Kunhikannan advised the Kerala Congress leader. In contemporary politics, “Mani will be received with both hands at the national level”, he added.
The BJP mouthpiece also commented that both the United Democratic Front and the Left Democratic Front in the State had not done justice to the Kerala Congress and K.M.Mani. “Both fronts had been kicking the Kerala Congress around for quite some time now”, he said.
BJP state general secretary K.Surendran, meanwhile, told reporters that the BJP leadership had not discussed the issue of inviting Mani to the NDA fold. CPM leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has been asking Mani to quit the UDF for quite some time now.
