Female playback singers are aplenty in Tamil cinema, but there aren’t too many women music composers in K’town.  After ‘Ashtavadhani’ P.Bhanumathy, Bhavatharini and Raihana, the latest to try her hand at music composing is Sri Vidya. Having had formal training in classical singing, Sri Vidya obtained a doctorate, doing research on legendary composer duo M.S.Viswanathan and T.K. Ramamoorthy. She has now been roped in for a film, titled Ennai Pidichirukka, which has Kevin and Preeti Vij in the lead and is directed by Subburaj.

“I have a lot of scope to prove my musical talents in EP. I have mixed classical and contemporary trends in fusion form and composed five different songs. I have roped in ‘Super Singer’ voice trainer Anandh Vaidhyanathan for a philosophical melody number,” says Sri Vidya.
