Subedar Patan Kumar Poddar in police custody

Hyderabad:A local court granted police custody of Patan Kumar Poddar, an Army official accused in an espionage case, to the central crime station. The investigation officials have been given seven days to question him. After the interrogation, the police will produce him before the court after conducting a medical checkup. 

 

Patan Kumar, a Naik Subedar in the MC/MF detachment at Secunderabad railway station, was arrested by the city police after he was found giving classified information of the Indian Army to a suspected female Pakistani agent. 

 

The investigators expect to extract specific information from Patan Kumar about details he passed on to the Pak spy. The police has also sought help of cyber experts to verify the data being passed on to the Pak national through emails and phone calls.
