Director Param Gill gets two premieres in one weekend
It's going to be a busy weekend for the director at San Francisco Global Movie Fest
Mumbai: Param Gill is the only director on the planet to have the world premiere of his Hollywood film, ‘Last Supper’ and the Bollywood film, ‘DOA: Death of Amar’, over the same weekend at San Francisco Global Movie Fest. The 22nd edition of the leading festival in United States is honoring his work in the Director Showcase segment.
Param is an American film maker of Indian origin who can trace his humble beginnings to a small town of Moga in Punjab.
Last Supper is a funny story of two lunatics who escape from a mental asylum and want to make a movie. The film stars legendary Hollywood comedian Eddie Griffin, Josh Meyers and Najarra Townsend.
Penny Marshall who launched the careers of Tom Hanks and Mark Wahlberg, plays herself in an exclusive cameo. Param has written and directed the film which is produced by J Bhandal. Last Supper will be screened in opening night slot on 15 August and will get a wide release in North America on Thanksgiving Day.
The Bollywood film, DOA: Death of Amar is a suspense/thriller about a struggling actor who is poisoned and has very little time to live. He must find out, who killed him and why? The film is presented by Remo D'Souza Entertainment and will open in theaters later this year after touring the festival circuit. The cast is led by Rajeev Khandelwal, Zarine Khan and Prashant Narayanan.
