International Photography day is just a few days away (six to be precise), and here is a gallery celebrating a day in the life of a pretentious photographer. Let's face it, we all know one. Photo: Anish Chakraborty
A wise man once said, "You don't 'take' a picture, you 'make' a picture." He was a professional photographer... and so is the guy who took these photos.
Kudos to the eye behind the lens. There is nothing wrong about this... how do you think we learnt about the birds and the bees.
'Photo Man' is the unlikely hero who believes (with all his heart) that EVERYTHING must be 'documented'.
"This series is not to upset people. It is a light satirical way to show that when people use their DSLR without paying heed to what they take pictures of." Anish Chakraborty
Or this picture of a calf eating fodder. It is the angle that makes the difference.
Photography is an 'art'... especially if you own a DSLR. This picture for instance, of a man sleeping in his taxi, is not just a picture of a man sleeping, it has 'depth'.
If you are friends with a photographer, you'll know what the outcome this slow shutter shot will look like.
You are probably laughing at this, but we are sure you have all tried this! Clicking pictures of books you've probably never read (and never will) beyond the index.
Oh! The site of men bathing by the river.... you can't ever get that wrong.
Love them, hate them, but you can't ignore a 'photographer' right? Especially when they have a zoom lens in your face.
Presenting (drum roll please)... "Photo Man"! An urban dictionary would describe him as a person with a DSLR and his super power? His fancy DSLR.
Anish Chakraborty, a student of English literature found poetry in the way photographers track, aim and shoot their prey on a daily basis, and put it out in a series of humorous photos that speak for themselves.
