Survey leaves out 2 lakh transgenders

Hyderabad:  The transgender community across the Telangana State is disappointed as the Integrated Household Survey does not include a section for the third gender.

There are over two lakh transgender people in the Telangana State.

Five transgender people had even contested in the recent general elections. Despite there being a Supreme Court verdict recognising the transgenders as the third gender, members of the community said that they are still struggling to find an identity.
