Telangana government asks nativity for SC, ST sops
People belonging to reserved categories might have to obtain fresh certificates
Hyderabad: After the Telangana government’s fee reimbursement scheme, welfare schemes for SC, ST and BC reserved categories might also be linked to nativity. The Telangana government on Tuesday adopted the Regulation of Issue of Community Certificates Act of 1993, but included fields such as place of residence at the time of notification of the caste as SC, ST or BC, allowing the government to clearly demarcate between Telangana and non-Telangana persons.
People belonging to reserved categories might also have to obtain fresh caste and nativity certificates from the government. The Telangana government has made it compulsory for people belonging to SC, ST and BC communities to participate in the intensive household survey on August 19 to be able to obtain nativity and community certificates. Those belonging to the reserved categories might have to obtain nativity and caste certificates once again after the household survey is completed.
