Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s decision of having a temporary capital at Vijayawada is facing opposition from the members of the Rayalaseema Rajadhani Sadhana Samithi.

“Why is Mr Naidu not even considering the Sivaramakrishnan Committee’s recommendations. Rayalaseema had already sacrificed its Kurnool capital in the past. If they are trying to bring in the Sreebagh Pact of 1937, then why not have a capital back in Kurnool. This is not being appreciated” said Desam Sudhakar Reddy, High Court advocate and co-ordinator of Rayalaseema Rajadhani Sadhana Samithi. Andhra Pradesh

On the other  hand, Intellectuals Forum president Chalasani Srinivas on Wednesday demanded that development of Andhra Pradesh should not be centred around only Vijayawada-Guntur region as had been the case with Hyderabad.
