Horse trading is big business in Anthiyur
TN transport dept has arranged 70 special buses for 4 days connecting the temple

Salem: The annual, 4-day, Anthiyur horse market begun at Gurunathasamy temple in Erode district on Wednesday. Hundreds of horse traders from different parts of India and devotees thronged the temple.
According to horse traders, more than 2,000 horses, costing from Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 5,00,000, are up for sale in the market. Breeds like Sevalai and Kathiyavadi, English pit and Nokkiran are on sale.
Apart from horses, Kangeyam bulls, Ongole cows and hybrid dogs are on display to attract visitors. The state government transport department has arranged for 70 special buses for the four days connecting the temple and neighbouring districts.
