Hyderabad: This August is proving to be month of holidays. With five consecutive holidays from August 15 to 19, many people have planned short vacations away from the city.

Starting from Independence Day on Friday, followed by the weekend, the Parsi New Year on Monday and the household survey on Tuesday, employees and students cannot believe their luck.

With August also being Shravan month for the Hindu community, Ganesh Chaturthi falls at the end of this month, again on a Friday, making it a long weekend. A holiday for Raksha Bandhan and Varalakshmi Vratam was also declared earlier this month.
