Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is falling short of 15,000 enumerators for the upcoming household survey and has asked resident welfare associations and colleges to help out.

Around 5,200 volunteers from Greater Hyderabad RWAs will thus take part in the massive Intensive Household Survey on August 19.

As of now, the GHMC has asked 1,200 people from Alwal and 800 from Malkajgiri (mostly teachers, students and retired officials) to help in the survey. The participants will be trained by the deputy and circle heads on August 15.

The RWAs, meanwhile, are conducting a separate training session for colonies regarding the documents to be furnished. Residents can download the proforma from www.tsks.nic.in.

B.T. Srinivas, RWA president, Malkajgiri, said, “On Independence Day, after  hoisting the flag, the deputy or the circle head will meet members of the RWA and explain how to conduct the survey. On Tuesday, the Ranga Reddy collector had written to all municipal officials to take help of the RWAs (there are 3000 registered RWAs in Greater Hyderabad comprising 25 lakh residents across the 150 wards). So far, 5,200 members have offered their services.”

The timings for the survey in rural areas have been fixed between 8 am and 8 pm and for urban areas from 7 am to 7 pm. However, the time will be extended to cover all the households. In case citizens face an emergency, they can contact the enumerator and request for an early inspection. Each household will take a minimum of 15 minutes to survey.
