‘Spiderman’ detained after scaling VV Towers
Jyothiraj alias Kothiraj climbed VV towers to hoist a tri-colour atop the building on the occasion of Independence Day

Bengaluru: Jyothiraj alias Kothiraj, who is dubbed as local ‘Spiderman’ for his skills in climbing high-rise buildings and rock climbing has been detained by Cubbon Park police, when he attempted to climb up the VV towers on Dr Ambedkar Veedhi road to hoist a tri-colour atop the building on the occasion of Independence Day.
Soon after the live coverage of Kothiraj climbing the building was aired on a vernacular news channel, senior police officers instructed the jurisdictional police to detain him since he had not obtained permission from the authority concerned.
Few police officers who were also part of the curious group watching the adventure detained him after he succeeded in climbing atop of the building and hoisted the flag. He was taken to the Cubbon Park police station and later released after issuing a stern warning. Hailing from Chitradurga, Kothiraj had made news with his extraordinary scaling skills and managed to scale the Jogfalls and is also making a debut in Kannada film.
