Hyderabad:For the first time ever the NTPC will be entering into a MoU with Apgenco for generating 1,000 MW solar power. This is part of the strategy of AP power utilities to provide 24X7 power to all consumers, and seven hours supply to agriculture. Apart from this, Apgenco has invited bids for 500 MW solar power capacity.

“Apgenco has expedited the construction of 800 MW at Krishnapatnam, 800 MW at VTPS, and is also planning to commission the 960 MW hydel power plant at Polavaram,” said the AP energy department.

To make the 24x7 Power for All (PFA) a success, AP utilities have adopted a multi-pronged strategy by enhancing energy sources, reducing T&D losses by 15 per cent and implementing energy efficiency programmes.
